Q: What’s the difference between “OEM Compatible”, “Remanufactured” and “Genuine OEM”? (OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer)

A: The differences between the products we carry are:

Genuine (OEM) Cartridges are made directly from Original Equipment Manufacturers. OEM product will be marked as OEM in their product description.

Remanufactured Cartridges have been recycled to OEM specifications. The process includes inspecting the old cartridge, replacing all worn parts, and print testing the cartridge for quality. All remanufactured cartridges are 100% guaranteed.

Compatible There are 2 types of compatible cartridges: The first type is “compatible” with most Printers, Fax Machines, Copiers, and Printer Ribbons and is brand new. The only difference – it is manufactured by a different company. The second type of compatible cartridge is made for most Laser units. The only difference here being that the plastic is normally recycled, but all the working parts are new.

Q: What are the benefits of compatible or remanufactured cartridges?

A: Compatible or Remanufactured cartridges are an economical alternative to OEM cartridges. All of our compatible or remanufactured cartridges carry a one (1) year warranty vs. a 90 day warranty for their OEM counterpart.

Q: Will these cartridges void my printers warranty?

A: A definite NO! Your manufacturer cannot void your machine’s warranty for using cartridges other than theirs; however, it may void your contract if you have binding agreement to use their supplies. All our products are 100% guaranteed to work as well as their OEM counterpart.

If a printer service technician, friend, or co-worker informs you that using an alternative or remanufactured brand of cartridge will void your warranty or that you will be charged for service because you’re not using the OEM products…

DONT BE INTIMIDATED!

It is illegal for a printer manufacturer to require you to use any particular brand of supplies. To enforce a policy such as this is in direct violation of the Sherman & Clayton Antitrust Acts.

Don’t be afraid to show this statement to any service person or OEM representative who threatens your right to choose your own supply source. American Imaging Supplies cartridges are 100% guaranteed to perform to your complete satisfaction.

THE LAW!

MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY IMPROVEMENT ACT

United States Code Annotated

Title 15 Commerce and Trade

Chapter 50 Consumer Product Warranties

15 Section 2302

“(c) No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumer’s using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade or corporate name; except that the prohibition of this subsection be waived by the commission if:

  • The warrantor satisfies the Commission that the warranted product will function properly only if the article or service so identified is used in connection with the warranted product, and
  • The Commission finds that such a waiver is in the public interest.”

This is your lifesaver for purchasing your inkjet cartridges at wholesale prices. Under no circumstances may any company or associate, salesperson or service technician deny you service or warranty work that would otherwise be covered under the warranty program.

Q: Am I really helping the environment by purchasing remanufactured cartridges?

A: Absolutely! Each empty laser printer cartridge adds approximately three pounds of waste to our landfills that will take as long as ten centuries to decompose. It is estimated that 100 million laser toner cartridges and 400 million inkjet cartridges are produced worldwide each year. Remanufacturing these 500 million cartridges will save an estimated 4 million cubic feet of landfill space. The printer cartridge remanufacturing industry has made and will continue to contribute a substantial positive input upon the environment and the economy wherever it exist. Today, more than 40 percent of all American businesses, 35 percent of all European businesses, use remanufactured cartridges. Quite an accomplishment in just ten years!

Q: Is it really free shipping for all orders above $50?

A: Yes, shipping is 100% free for orders above $50. All other orders will be charged a flat $9.95. Please note we use UPS Ground for toner orders.

Q: How quickly do you ship your orders?

A: Normal delivery time is 2 to 7 working days, depending on the day and time of the order, plus geographic location. If ordering more than one type of product (i.e., an OEM cartridge and a remanufactured cartridge), your shipment may originate from more than one location and deliveries may arrive, and be packaged, separately.

Q: I would like to order in bulk. Do you give bulk discounts:

A: Yes, If you have a special or bulk order and would like special pricing, please contact our sales dept.

Q: What methods of payment do you accept?

A: We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Checks, and Money orders.

Q: Do you price match?

A: Yes, we will do our best to beat any competitors advertised price on a comparable item. Please keep in mind that we offer free shipping so we will only beat the final cost, shipping included.

Q: Can I fax my order to you?

A: Yes. To fax your order you can go through the online checkout process like normal and add the products to your cart. You can go all the way through the checkout process and print out the page before you process and confirm the order. You can then fax us this information to us. Our fax number is 888.291.7766.

Q: I’ve heard some horror stories about recycled cartridges.

A: So have we! Those people are called drillers and fillers. They open the cartridge, fill it up and sell it. Drillers and fillers gave the remanufacturing industry a bad name and we are working hard to overcome that. Ask questions before you buy whether it be from us or any other remanufacture.

Q: What kind of guarantee do you have?

A: Glad you asked that. Some manufacturers and remanufactures only offer a short-term guarantee. We are so confident in our products that we guarantee them for a full year. If one of our cartridges fails, we will promptly replace it. You can check the Guarantee link at the top of this page to read our full Guarantee.

Q: I’ve only received part of my order?

A: If you order different type of products (for example, an HP OEM Laser Cartridge, and an Epson Compatible Ink Jet cartridge), your items may originate from more than one location and deliveries may arrive, and be packaged separately.

Q: How do I return a defective cartridge or have an RMA issued:

A: You may request an RMA number by using our Return Form, e-mail us, or call us Toll Free at 800-764-1371. Please reference your order number and the reason for returning the merchandise on all correspondence.

Q: What is the average shelf life of a Toner Cartridge?

A: Eighteen (18) months if the cartridge is stored in a cool, dry place.

Q: Do compatible or remanufactured cartridges last as long as OEM?

A: All of our compatible or remanufactured cartridges are manufactured according to OEM specification, and will equal the same page yield as their OEM counterpart.
